Chat Watch SPEAR Edition allows you to keep a log of instant messages sent and received using AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, ICQ, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk, and others without any extra software or configuration.

Why is this called the SPEAR Edition of Chat Watch?

The regular version of Chat Watch is a parental control software that allows parents to monitor and record their children's instant messages. As time passed, we had lots of interest in Chat Watch from police officers wanting to use it in their investiations. It quickly became obvious to us that a special edition of Chat Watch was needed for law enforcement purposes. Hence, Chat Watch SPEAR Edition was created! The regular version of Chat Watch for parents was first introduced in 2001.

Built-In Instant Message Logging

Chat Watch SPEAR Edition includes the ability to log instant messages sent and received using AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo! Messenger (support for other instant messengers may be available upon request). The instant messages will be logged and saved to the corresponding investigation for easy review. You will have access to additional plugins that allow Chat Watch SPEAR Edition to log even more instant messengers.

Create Comprehensive Reports

At any point in an investigation you can create reports in portable document format (PDF) which outline the details of the investigation. The reports can be printed so that they can then be shared with the appropriate individuals or encrypted for maximum protection.

Security Features of Chat Watch SPEAR Edition

Chat Watch SPEAR Edition has several security features to help protect the logged instant messages. One of the security features is that the logged instant messages are stored in an encrypted database which is only readable by Chat Watch SPEAR Edition. Also, individual investigations in Chat Watch SPEAR Edition can be password protected. PDF reports created by Chat Watch SPEAR Edition can be encrypted and password protected.
